Our school has an intake of 150 pupils per year group and we are at capacity when we have 600 pupils on roll. In recent years, we have been above local and national figures for pupil attainment in the vast majority of indicators and we are very proud of the hard work that is undertaken by staff and pupils to reach these milestones. Recent OfSTED inspections have graded the school as continuously good and many strengths have been celebrated in internal and external reviews.
We are constantly striving to improve our work and we know that the job is never completely done. We have very rigorous systems for internal review and all senior staff have role in developing the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
As well as developing a strong, rich and varied curriculum, we strive to offer pupils a range of opportunities to allow them to discover new skills, challenge themselves and show off their talents. We are also very pleased with the number of pupils who take on extra roles and responsibilities across the school from our Head girl/boy, our prefects and house captains to the more than 100 strong team who volunteer for roles led by our mentor team – they are known as the Rampees.
We also have a very strong reputation for nurturing the personal, social and emotional aspects of our pupils and have a number of people in school who focus on these areas including our well-being lead, ELSA, mentor team and even our school dog – Hamish.
As you get to know more about us, we hope that you agree that the learning experience at Ludlow is unique and is designed to bring out the very best in your child through challenge, support, guidance, understanding and individualisation.
Our highly dedicated team look forward to working in partnership with you so that we can help your child grow and flourish, to enjoy this phase of their education and to prepare them for life beyond Ludlow.
