Reading after school event

4^th December 2019

In our after school reading event, we celebrated all the wonderful reading that we are doing here at Ludlow.

The event began with a short presentation about our reading curriculum, followed by active workshops where children and parents/could enjoy reading activities together. These included:

• Paired reading – children read with a family member whilst enjoying milk and a cookie!
• Opportunities to see Bug Club in action
• Using reading VIPERS
• Playing fun reading games to develop a range of skills
• Learning about how to use the library
• A visit from our local library in Woolston
• Posing for photos in our ‘Sheflie’ photo booth
• Taking part in a book swap – children could exchange something old for something new

The event was a great success and it was lovely to have so much support from home as we endeavour to promote a love of reading here at school. Thank you to everyone who was involved!
