Hamish is a medium sized labradoodle and was born on 30 November 2014. He attends school everyday and has been since he was 12 weeks old. We celebrate Hamish’s birthday in school every year as a community event. For our children and visitors Hamish is a real highlight and we often receive lots of positive feedback about the benefits of having a school dog.
Across his time in school Hamish’s role has broadened significantly. He started off working with individuals and made short visits to classes. He now contributes to;
- Well-being sessions
- Motivational reward sessions
- Extra curricular activities
- Hamish News Hounds
- Curriculum units of work - english, maths and art
- Support for pupils with complex needs
- Charity fundraising.
Hamish loves coming to school and you can even see him on the staff notice board!
