Ludlow Junior School is in the heart of the Itchen & Woolston Community and has around 560 pupils on roll.

As a large Junior Community Academy School with our most recent Ofsted inspection rating us as “Good”, we have an opportunity to take the next step to outstanding as we develop into a lead Multi Academy Trust and continue to improve our school - in particular our learning environments and site - the goal is excellence for every member of our school community.

We are looking for a motivated, resourceful, and aspirational Senior Site Manager to join our team and to specifically work with, our newly appointed Deputy Site Manager and existing cleaning team.

If you have high expectations with high personal standards and want to be part of the exciting future of Ludlow Junior School then we want to hear from you.

The post holder will need to have a flexible approach and be ready to support the school community.

You will be confident in following the vision of the Senior Leadership Team and be able to proficiently make decisions to reach desired outcomes.  You will be confident to lead the site and cleaning team, be able to engage in professional meetings and dialogue, and be able to communicate well, demonstrating excellent skills in facilities and building management (both project management and hands on skills) which will ensure a safe and effective working and learning environment for our community.

You will also need to be able to deliver effective and engaging whole school training and support the professional development of all staff.

You will have relevant experience and be able to demonstrate effective liaison and management skills with external partners, providing a strong level of check and balance to meet compliancy requirements.

With a trade, site, or construction background, you will have a strong desire to work in a dynamic school environment and have current or recent experience in a team leadership position.  Experienced in contributing towards policy development, you will understand the content in a way that enables you to guide others in how to follow policies and procedures to a high standard.

You will be experienced and highly skilled in completing risk assessments and will be able to effectively contribute to managing operational risk.

With good IT skills, you will be able to demonstrate efficient and accurate record keeping, presentation of data to the Senior Leadership Team, manage meeting content and email communications.  You will need to demonstrate these skills when corresponding with/working with the staff team, senior team, community and Trustees.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will need to be skilled in leading and supporting colleagues to ensure the very best outcomes for our school. The post holder will work to secure the brightest future for our pupils and the wider community.

This post will be integral to our on-going whole school journey.

In order for the post holder to develop a rounded view of work across the school day, shifts will ideally be on a rotating pattern, alternating mornings and afternoons on a 2 weekly basis e.g. week 1 – 8.00am – 4.00pm each day, week 2 - 10.15am – 6.15pm each day.  The Deputy Site Manager will fulfil the opposite shift pattern each week. There is a need for some flexibility of hours with notice, to support planned school events.

If shortlisted, there will be practical skills tests, leading to a formal panel interview on Tuesday 13th September so please allow the whole day for this process.

If this sounds of interest then we would love to hear from you.
