Art Intent Statement

“Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity.”

At Ludlow Junior School we aim to deliver a curriculum which is progressive, engaging and accessible to all and that will maximise the development of every child's creativity and achievement. This will enable them to know more about art and artists and aspply this knowledge to impact upon their own art work. Art units are based with topic links and underpinned by learning from the work and techniques from great artists, architects and designers in history. Units are planned with a clear progression of skills. We aim develop our children’s ability creativity, expression their ideas and understanding and to work both individually and collaboratively with others.

Here at Ludlow pupils develop skills and understanding in exploring and investigating, creating and evaluating artwork. We provide the children with the opportunities to develop and extend skills and an opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas.

We intend to fully enrich the children’s art experiences through events such as visiting artists and whole school arts week where the children have the opportunity for collaborative working and exploring the different styles and techniques.
